The Vikings: Master Mariners, Traders, Colonists, and Artisans. Visit the Maritime Museum of BC and discover the real story of the early Swedes, Danes, Norwegians, and Icelanders. Through a number of interpretive panels with mounted artifacts from excavations in North America and Europe you will experience the look of a typical settlement. You'll see the artistic motifs Vikings used in their arts & crafts, and marvel at their incredible ingenuity as ship-builders. Presented in conjunction with the Manitoba Museum, this exhibit uses archeological findings to present a much more complex picture of the Norse people than the stereotype of horned-helmeted, bloodthirsty sea rovers.
